FIGURSKI AT FINDHORN ON ACID

I was a member of the team that migrated Richard Holeton’s comedic hypertext novel, Figurski at Findhorn on Acid, published by Eastgate Systems, Inc. in 2001 to an open-access, archival version created in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

My role on this project was to create the images and backgrounds for the contemporary version of the work. After the website went live, I helped to conduct a usability test and documented issues. Additionally, I helped the team with fixing some of those styling and formatting issues with CSS and HTML.

Creating these images for the contemporary version of the work was a challenging endeavor. The new images had to closely resemble the images used in the original version while still fitting seamlessly into the story and merging with the author’s vision. The best way to appreciate these new images is to read Figurski at Findhorn on Acid and toggle between the archival and contemporary versions of the story.
